African-Centered Play Therapy is more than ensuring you have diverse tools in your playroom. It is understanding the history of children of African descent and the communities in which they reside. It is analyzing the foundations of the modalities we use and the individuals who developed them. It is much more!
Attendees in the workshop will:
Define Play Therapy
Identify Directive and Non Directive Play Therapy and Techniques
Understand limitations of Play Therapy with children and families of African Descent
Define African Centered Play Therapy
Learn 5 interventions to work with children and families of African Descent
We will practice strategies, engage in meaningful conversations, and of course play!

Playful Minds Therapy has partnered with Backyard Basecamp to bring Grounded in the Garden back for 5 weeks!
Each week girls will explore mindfulness via different themes such as nature, play, sound, and art.
This is a great opportunity for girls to build friendships while also focusing on their wellness and having fun!

African-Centered Play Therapy Supervision: Engaging Parents in the Therapeutic Journey
One of the most common difficulties those who work with kiddos have is engaging parents in the therapeutic journey. Understanding how to build a strong bond with your parents while maintaining the trust of kiddos is one of the most important skill set a child therapist needs! Let's chat about it.

This supervision is for you if:
You work with and are committed to the healing of Black children and families
You are interested in utilizing an African-Centered Play Therapy approach to your practice
You want to engage in meaningful conversation and fun and expand your Social Work community
NaShey Ingram, LCSW-C, RPT-S is a MD Board of SW Approved Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. This supervision will count towards 1 group supervision hour for any MD SW seeking clinical licensure. Registration will be limited for supervision hour seeking persons to adhere to COMAR regulations for group supervision.
This supervision will also count towards 1 group supervision hour for any person seeking RPT licensure.

GITG Series at BLISS Meadows
Grounded in the Garden is an opportunity for black girls to engage in sisterhood, learn ways to stay grounded, be active, and get outside.
Each week girls will have the opportunity to explore what being grounded is to them and various ways to explore their emotions while enjoying and honoring nature.
Grounded in the Garden is interactive and engaging. We will move, we will create, we will explore, and we of course have fun!
